GLOBAL DREAMS : ALLURING OR DECEIVING

A debate on studying in India v/s studying Abroad

Wow!! Got the visa!!! I’m also trying out next week.” This is what we commonly hear from the Interns. This is not for enjoying the vacation ,but to complete their P.G. abroad . Although many of us have certainly decided the branch, but still have doubts about the country where it is to be done.

So here we are narrating “WRESTLING” of some of our views.

INDIA
ABROAD
VALAY
KHUSHAL
Native country
“ I will not leave my own country”
Money
“Why do I study? To earn money. So why shouldn’t I go there where I can earn the most?”
Ethics
“My country has given me so much for these many
years. It’s time for me to pay it back. It’s our time to
make it strong. I’m against the ‘BRAIN DRAIN‘”.
Standard of Living
“Now that I am earning a good deal, I want better facilities, which are best available abroad”
Social Life
“I cannot leave my family and friends and how can I live without those Navratri nights, kites of Uttarayan, colours of Holi and crackers of Diwali??!!”
No Corruption
“In India, in spite of working very hard I won’t get
the fruit I deserve whereas abroad I would earn as
much as I put in.”
Leisure of life
“I don’t have to slog myself the whole day.”

Newer Technology
“It’s flooded with the best and the most modern technology.”

Racism
“We Indians are not given the surgical branches in some of the countries. So why should we go where our knowledge is not respected?”
Selected Branches
“Some of the specialized branches are available only there. What if I want to choose one of them?”
Economic Constraints
“I have to spend so much to study there. I can easily build a hospital from that money. While over there I will have to do a job.”
Demand
“There is a big valley between the need
of the doctors and their presence abroad. Whereas
over here it’s the other way round.”
VISA problems
“May be I will have to wait a year or two before getting the VISA. Why should I waste so much of my time?
Number of seats
“There is always better availability of the seats in the foreign countries. Moreover the number of the autonomous and the
self finance colleges in our country is ever increasing making it difficult to get the admissions on the free seats. So there is always a gap between the U.G. and P.G.”

Our “FIGHT” is still on and may be you people have better ideas to support one of us.
We hope that this small discussion by us would help you to get both the pros and cons about studying in INDIA as well as ABROAD.

The Grass on the other side is always greener.
Life is all about achieving what you dream
